Agile Day

Agile procedures are standard in a large number of companies. Many projects worldwide deploy Scrum, XP, Lean or other well-known but frequently user-written agile methods. However, not every agile project is successful. Agile Day will provide insights into experience gained by agile method consultants, agile customers and agile developers. It will show how agile procedures can be employed profitably in software development projects.

Architecture

The world of software tends to become more and more integrated – end-to-end processes that cross corporate and technological boundaries as well as the universal availability of data and information present organisations with huge challenges. In this environment, software architects assume a special role in project development: they must have all the qualities of decathletes who have to handle code, design, communication and management. The Architecture Track of JAX London offers architects first-class information and optimum know-how from experienced and well-known software architects.

Groovy & Grails Day

Groovy is a dynamic language on the Java platform which was developed with a particular focus on the habits of Java programmers. Groovy combines the best of both worlds – lightweight dynamic programming and use of the tried-and-tested Java Stack – in a unique manner. Groovy Day will provide an insight into the concepts behind Groovy and supply valuable information for practical application.

Java Enterprise

Since Version 3.0, Enterprise JavaBeans has unjustly had the reputation of being cumbersome and complex. It would be closer to the truth to say that, since the great “EJB crisis”, the EJB concept has evolved very significantly and is today a state-of-the-art technology. How powerful EJBs can be today and how easy they can be to handle will be shown on EJB3 & JEE6 Day. For Java Enterprise developers and architects, it will provide a wealth of insider knowledge for the use of EJB in company-critical applications.

JSF in Action

JavaServer Faces are the de-facto standard for component-based Web applications in the Java environment. This technology enables state-of-the-art, flexible and maintainable applications to be developed. With the JSF 2.0 standard, the JSF has made an important leap forward. This Special Day will provide information on the current state of the art and the tools while also reporting on best practice.
