This workshop provides an introduction to metrics based monitoring with
Prometheus and visualization with Grafana. Participants learn how to
install and configure Prometheus on bare metal and with containers.
Instrumentation and capturing of business metrics is demonstrated using
a Java based Spring Boot sample application and the micrometer framework.
The creation of dashboards for visualization is of course covered, as
well as triggering alarms if something does not work as it should.

After the workshop, participants will be able to provide, visualize and
evaluate metrics for monitoring of their applications and infrastructure.

Participants should have prior knowledge of how to use the command line
and basic understanding of networking and container (Docker) usage.
